Published: Feb 22, 2016
Description
What is a musician’s response to the condition of the world? Do musicians have both an obligation and an opportunity to serve the public good through their work?
At a time of change for the classical music profession, with shifting audiences and evolving career paths, how can musicians navigate and shape what comes next? Are we witnessing a decline, or a moment of reinvigoration?
This course explores how musicians can respond to the needs of the world through performance, teaching, and community engagement, offering new ways to think about music’s role in public life.
